Vaughan, ON at a Glance
The City of Vaughan is situated along the northern border of Toronto,
right above the former city of Etobicoke. Although the city counts less than 200,000
in population, there are a lot of noteworthy attractions and events characteristic
of a city much larger. Vaughan is best known as the site of Paramount
Canada's Wonderland, Canada's largest theme park. The park features over 200
attractions and more than 60 rides, attracting over 3 million visitors annually.
The McMichael
Canadian Art Collection is nestled within 100 acres of pristine woodland and
showcases pieces from Canada's famed Group of Seven, as well as First Nations,
Inuit and contemporary artists. The Kortright
Conservation Area is home to one of Canada's largest environmental education
centres. With over 800 acres of green space, 18 km (11.2 mi) of hiking trails
and countless educational opportunities, the park has become a popular destination.
